how to select direction to gain maximum efficiency from solar panel

in order to gain more efficiency from solar panel we need to keep the solar panel facing towards sun.

as we can not do that regularly, you can use a sun tracker.

if you can not invest in sun tracker then better position is to face it towards south as most of the sun enters on south side..

how to select south. there are two souths.

we can select south direction from compass which is magnetic south. but this is not real south. it gives 3% lesser energy.

we can also find real south based on star polaris or shortest shadow methods..
